Startled Insects' first album for Island Records showed a greater maturity and breadth than their earlier offerings, adding brass and other live instruments into the mindbending maelstrom of the mix. Walter Becker, talking about the opening track Creatures, said: "It would be good theme music for a sitcom where Daddy is a paranoid schizophrenic".
As you can see, the 2ndsight cover artwork differs from the original (pictured below), which Island complained was "the most expensive since the U2 double gatefold".
